About Year for God
Year for God is an opportunity for Christian mission training and experience in a different country and culture.
The programme begins with a preparation week in the UK, after which you fly to your chosen location for the Discipleship Training School (DTS) which is 3 months training and 2 months outreach. The DTS is followed by a 5-month mission work placement in your chosen location. The year ends with a debrief week back in the UK.
Year for God is a great opportunity to take your relationship with God to a whole new level and to share God’s love with others. Although YFG runs to fit in with the academic year, it is not exclusively a gap year programme, and we would welcome interest from anyone over the age of 18.
Since Year for God began in 1991, we have seen 100s of young people be transformed through serving the Lord in world mission, experiencing the joy and challenge of taking the Good News of Jesus to other cultures and settings. The programme has a long and fruitful history and has been the springboard to launch many into a lifetime of mission, in their home country and abroad.
